SAVE A SEED UPDATE!

We here at AddieBelle are eager to share and build on the initial results of our 'Save-A-Seed Fund' partnership with the American Community Garden Association. The opportunities for continuing contributions which our 'Now The Green Blade Rises Tour' will present will bring incredible growth and we are thrilled, grateful and ready to rock. As a strong foundation, we are pleased to report that since the release of our third cd, Room To Grow, last June, we have become the primary sponsor for the ACGA  teleconferences. Topics ranging from how to get sustainably grown, locally harvested, organic foods to the homeless and those who find themselves depending on soup kitchens and shelters for their nourishment, (this conference was moderated by Laura Sollid, of Organics For All www.organicsforall.org) to Seed-Saving how-tos delivered by Heather Jerrett from High Mowing Seeds www.highmowingseeds.com, can be enjoyed by you!

These 60 to 90-minute workshops are held by conference call. Typically, conference calls occur during the day and have a maximum capacity of 35 people. Speakers are experts in their field. Most sessions have between one and three speakers. All participants are permited to ask questions of these experts towards the end of the call. All calls are recorded and moderated by ACGA staff.

You can visit ACGA's website at http://www.communitygarden.org/learn/training/teleconferences.php to listen to the most recent Teleconference "Organics for All" with Laura Sollod that took place in April 2008 or to get more information on becoming part of the teleconference.

"How to Save Seeds"- was on August 20th 2008 with Heather Jerrett from High Mowing Organic Seeds. This conference focused on Seed Saving. If you were unable to be a part of the call please keep an eye on the ACGA link above for the call to post.

Coming up in September, informative discussions led by experts in their fields on how to build successful Farm-to-School programs, and the skinny on Genetically Modified Seeds and what their presence means to the future of sustainable agriculture.

Please follow the links to listen in and spread the words! Active membership is required to participate in our tele-chat, but  audio-archives are available for everyone post-conference date.
